Diversity Peer Educators/Officers

Diversity Peer Educators/Officers are midshipmen who volunteer & are appointed to serve as a resource for other midshipmen for support and guidance on topics such as race, gender, sexual orientation, and gender identity.



Cultural Diversity Club

The Mission is to Celebrate Cultural Diversity and recognize cultural differences. It is about understanding the concept of culture, which is the embodiment of who and what we are.


Asian Pacific Islander Club

The purpose of this club shall be to provide Asians, Asian Americans, and Pacific Islanders with a positive community for socializing, networking, and activism, as well as to spread and celebrate Asian cultures and heritage, and publicize Asian-American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.



The Academy aims to provide a supportive safe space on and off campus for its midshipmen, faculty, and staff

while striving to support academic success and leadership development of the midshipmen.

Kappa Pi Lambda

To provide professional development resources for women on the water. KPL seeks to empower women by creating professional leadership networks, inspire female leaders through mentorship, and strengthening the relationship between female and male cadets.

The Office enhances this by providing personal attention for all midshipmen as one of their primary resource

The Office of Mishipmen Activities at the United States Merchant Marine Academy offers numerous opportunities for students to get involved in co-curricular activities. There are over 50 registered student organizations, which sponsor numerous programs and events.

Office of Midshipmen Activities specialize in making ideas happen!

As advocates of Midshipmen empowerment, OMA provides resources, guidance, and support to enhance midshipmen achievement and personal development. Opportunities to participate in governance, leadership training, cultural events, and a wide array of diverse Midshipmen organizations abound for all interests. The OMA also collaborates with other offices and departments in hosting many academy traditions and events throughout the academic year.
